Dr Agis PapadopoulosProf. Agis Papadopoulos graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He received his Master of Science in Energy Conservation and the Environment at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Cranfield University and his PhD specialising in Energy Management from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He was a visiting Professor on Energy and Business Economics at the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Thessaly, on Energy Resources Management at the Department of Business Administration at the University of Macedonia. Currently, he is a Professor on Energy Systems, Economics and Policies at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
His research focuses on energy conservation and rational use of energy in buildings, and energy resources’ management - energy economics.
He has published more than 200 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings, 5 textbooks in Greek and several chapters in 6 international textbooks.
He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), of the Permanent Committee for Industry and Energy (2001-2004), the Hellenic Society of Operational Research (EEEE), the German Society for Rational Energy Use (GRE), the American Society of Heating Refrigeration Air Conditioning Engineering (ASHRAE), the Hellenic Institute of Solar Technology (Member of Board, since 2000), the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and the European Federation of Heating Ventilation and Air – Conditioning (REHVA) as a national representative from 2003 to 2007.
