The offering of innovative, customer-oriented services is a key factor for the competiveness of modern economies. Therefore, the module Service Design aims in providing knowledge how to develop new services, how to comply with customer needs and expectations and how to launch new services successfully on the market. A conceptual framework guides the students through the process from the idea phase to the development and the delivery of services. Moreover, students will learn which methods and tools can be used and what approaches for customer integration are appropriate. Practical examples show how to apply the service design knowledge in a company environment. Finally, results from international studies will be presented and current and future developments in the area of Service Design will be discussed.
