Kamou Nathalie

Kamou Nathalie holds a PhD, a MSc in Plant Pathology and a BSc from the School of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She specialized on biological control of soil borne plant pathogenic fungi by beneficial rhizobacteria and also biocontrol of invasive weeds by host specific pathogenic fungi. Her research was oriented on screening for new bacterial strains that act as biocontrol agents and isolating and identifying metabolites (e.g. antibiotics, enzymes) produced by them. After a short-term training, during 2014, at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala (Sweden), she gained experience in gene expression analysis after plant – microbe interactions. Her working experience includes working as a consultant at Mihail Vassilios (FAS) supervising the experimental cereal fields and as a consultant for ELGEKA group of Companies, participating in the organisational team in the designing and planning of an industrial glass house for the production of Medical Cannabis. She currently works as a post-doctoral research associate on the  research project: “Optimization of the production of propagative material of vegetable crops and plant protection management in the greenhouses with biological and biotechnological methods – VegProtect”, Pesticide Science Laboratory, AUTH and on the project: “Strengthening the cultivation of mastic trees through the use of innovative molecular methods – Mast4trees”, Plant Pathology Laboratory, AUTH.
