University Gym

The University Gym of the International Hellenic University is located at the Alexander Campus in Sindos. The mission of the University Gym is to provide a wide range of sports programs and activities for the students and all staff of IHU.

The aim of all programs is to improve the quality of life of the members of the academic community through exercise, play and sports activity.

The University Gym operates according to the teaching and activity schedule drawn up at the beginning of each academic year and approved by the Sports Committee, taking into account educational and athletic needs as well as the resources available.

In the near future, the University Gym will launch a series of programs covering the following areas:

Registration

For STUDENT registration at the University Gym, the following supporting documents must be attached to the form:

  1. Valid academic ID (student pass). Undergraduate/postgraduate students, PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers without a student pass: certificate of studies/enrollment issued by their department (within the last month).
  2. Solemn declaration of participation and compliance with the operating rules (the application serves as a solemn declaration).
  3. Medical certificate from a specialist physician (Internist/Cardiologist). Certificates for your registration or renewal at the University Gym must be issued exclusively through the Ministry of Health application (IDIKA – Electronic Governance of Social Security). The certificate must explicitly state that you are healthy and able to take part in sports activities. This certificate is issued for any lawful use and for the University Gym.
  4. Athlete Health Card (open/download template) for participation in individual/team competitive championships.

Important: Rules and Requirements

  1. Registration is completed within 1–5 working days, by email from the University Gym secretariat to the email address you provide.
  2. Students who have not registered online with the University Gym are not permitted entry.
  3. To use the sports halls and the gym, you must book a day and time in accordance with the operating hours and the schedule of the University Gym.

Entry for students is permitted exclusively upon:

Presentation of an identity document (academic ID/national ID card/passport/driving licence) in electronic or printed form.

Note: Each user is personally responsible for their own equipment (e.g. balls, rackets, small balls, mats, resistance bands). The gym will not provide any training equipment to users.

Registration

For the registration of Administrative Staff and Faculty Members (DEP), Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP), Special Teaching Staff (EEP) and Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP), the following are required:

  1. Copy of ID card (both sides).
  2. Recent certificate of employment / active contract with IHU.
  3. Solemn declaration of participation and compliance with the operating rules (the application serves as a solemn declaration).

  1. Registration is completed when the University Gym secretariat sends an email to the address you provided in the registration form.
  2. Employees without online registration are not permitted entry.
