Aims<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the financial and strategic concepts applied to M&A, and a full recognition of the impact of corporate consolidation on shareholders and stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The course will assist participants to:<\/p>\n

  • Appreciate the M&A activity in the context and state of the global economy<\/li>\n
  • Assess the corporate motives and the strategic rationales for M&As<\/li>\n
  • Evaluate the potential benefits of M&A and takeover transactions<\/li>\n
  • Address the key success factors<\/li>\n
  • Highlight the associate risks and potential disadvantages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n

    On completing the course, the participants will have the ability to evaluate issues related to the:<\/p>\n

    • Different negotiating techniques and bidding strategies<\/li>\n
    • Commonly used takeover defences and tactics<\/li>\n
    • Deal valuation and financing<\/li>\n
    • Role of outside advisors and company management<\/li>\n
    • Regulators, the regulatory and tax environment<\/li>\n
    • Post-merger integration and other impacts of the M&A process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
