This form needs to be printed out, completed, signed, and dated. Besides this form you\u2019ll also need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passport, with at least two blank pages. The passport shall have been issued within the previous ten years. The passport shall be valid for at least three months after the intended date of your departure from the Schengen area or, in the case of multiple trips, until the date on which you plan to depart after<br \/>\nyour final stay.<\/li>\n<li>Two (2) Passport photos in accordance with specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Proof of travel and hotel reservations to Greece and of return.<\/li>\n<li>Adequate and valid travel medical insurance to cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and\/or emergency hospital treatment or death, during their stay in Greece. The minimum coverage should be for \u20ac30.000.<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of criminal record issued by the authorities of your country of origin.<\/li>\n<li>Medical certificate from a recognized state or private body, which shows that you do not suffer from a disease that poses threats to public health (attached to the &#8220;Useful Documents&#8221;).<\/li>\n<li>A Visa fee of 90 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>A cover letter. A personal letter in which you explain why you are applying to visit Greece, how long you plan to stay, when will you leave and other details.<\/li>\n<li>Proof of civil status. This could be a marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finally, because you are applying for a Study Visa to Greece, you also need to provide the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>An official acceptance letter from your chosen University in Greece, which must be an institution certified by the Greek Ministry of Education.<\/li>\n<li>A certification that the applicant has the income to cover living expenses for the duration of studies. The application for a student residence permit is submitted online at <a href=\"https:\/\/applications.migration.gov.gr\/en\/metanasteusi\/\">https:\/\/applications.migration.gov.gr\/en\/metanasteusi\/<\/a> with the assistance of our Unit, it is issued by the competent Immigration Service of the Decentralised Administration of Central Macedonia and Thrace and is granted by decision of the Coordinator of the Decentralised Administration Macedonia and Thrace.<\/p>\n<p>IMPORTANT: Please note that the application must be fully completed before your visa expires and must be accompanied by the following supporting\u00a0 documents:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Four (4) recent colour photographs in physical form and on passport format (4&#215;6), as well as in digital format on an optical disc (CD) in JPEG2000 graphic format.<\/li>\n<li>Photocopy of all pages of a valid passport or travel document recognized by Greece. (In the event that the place of birth (city) is not listed in your passport, you must provide an official public document of your country of birth or origin which must be officially translated and legally certified).<br \/>\nIMPORANT : Please note that the copy of all pages of your passport must be certified by a Greek lawyer.<\/li>\n<li>Valid entry Visa.<\/li>\n<li>Electronic fee (e-paravolo) of 150 \u20ac (for the issuance of the e-paravolo it is mandatory to have a valid TIN\/AFM number otherwise the e-paravolo, code 2107, is issued by the KEPs and it can be paid at any bank or post office.<\/li>\n<li>Electronic fee(e-paravolo) of \u20ac16 for the cost of a &#8220;self-billing document card&#8221; (eparavolo code 2119).<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation of enrolment and payment of fees to IHU.<\/li>\n<li>Evidence that the student has sufficient resources to cover the costs of study and living expenses. If the marriage took place outside Greece, the certificate must be officially authenticated and translated (more information on the procedure\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihu.gr\/ucips\/authforeigndocs\">here<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Before applying for a Tax Identification Number (AFM) in Greece, it is essential to establish a connection with a Greek SIM card provider. This ensures that the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) can contact you during and after the issuance process, primarily to send one-time passwords (OTP).<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, when completing your application, select &#8220;Abroad&#8221; as your country of residence and provide your permanent address in your home country.<\/p>\n<p>Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can make an appointment to open an account at a bank in your area.<\/p>\n<p>The largest and oldest banks in Greece are National Bank of Greece, Alpha Bank, Eurobank, Piraeus Bank.<\/p>\n<p>The most common documents required for your application are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Proof of Identity <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>(Valid passport or national identity card (for EU citizens).<\/li>\n<li>Non-EU citizens will generally need a valid passport and a residence permit or visa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Proof of Address<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>A recent utility bill (electricity, water, phone) showing your name and address.<\/li>\n<li>Lease or rental agreement.<\/li>\n<li>Bank statement from another bank with your address listed.<\/li>\n<li>Tax document or certificate showing your permanent address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Tax Identification Number (AFM)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>A Greek Tax Identification Number (AFM) is required for both residents and non-residents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Proof of Employment or Income<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>This might include a work contract, certificate of studies, salary slips, pension documents, or other proof of income.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that foreign public documents can be accepted by Greek banks, but they must first be validated and officially translated into Greek. Students should submit the Letter of Acceptance issued by IHU after completing their application\u2019s evaluation procedure to the Embassy\/Consulate.<\/p>\n<p>Please keep in mind that a visa may take up to 3 months to be issued.\u00a0 So plan your\u00a0 trip to Greece early and gather the required documents as seen on our ISSO webpage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihu.gr\/ucips\/international-students#comingtogreece\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I work during my studies? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, as long as you have completed your enrollment, and you have a valid residence permit for studies (for non-European citizens) you can work part-time anywhere in Greece.<\/p>\n<p>According to the law\u00a0 N.5275\/2026 article Nr 30 :\u00a0 &#8220;<em>&#8230;.Third-country nationals who have been granted a residence permit for study purposes of type \u201cH.1\u201d are allowed to work only under a <b>part-time employment regime<\/b>, outside their study hours, in accordance with the provisions set out in the relevant regulations governing part-time employment. In any case, the number of working hours, according to the first paragraph, <b>may not exceed twenty (20) hours per week<\/b>.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are there students\u2019 residences at the university?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are currently no residence halls.
