Aims

The module aims to provide a good understanding of the particular nature of family firms, their structure and functions, while underlining key factors and providing skills that are necessary towards their successful management.

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course you should be able to:

  • Define and interpret the concept of the family firm, be aware of its particular structure, functions and nature
  • Understand the basic principles of the (keep ‘the’) successful implementation of Management in family firms
  • Understand the concept and dynamics of family firm succession
  • Develop the appropriate capabilities and competencies in order to effectively negotiate, form strategic partnerships and network
  • Be aware and informed of the constantly changing legislation affecting the activities of family firms
