Trade and Markets

On completing the course the participants will be able to:

  • Acquire the necessary analytical tools to study trade flows, the welfare implications of trade policies as well as the impact of domestic policies on import and exports of biotechnological products
  • Understand the role of prices in determining the direction (exports of imports) of trade flows, of the impact of domestic demand and supply conditions on countries trade position, and of the analytics of different import and export policy measures that countries may use to improve their welfare
  • Measure the welfare implications of changes in trade policies

Evaluate the trade potential of foreign markets under alternative policy scenarios and analyze the resulting economic and welfare effects.
